Information for 2012 Secondary One Students and Parents

1. Reporting Time

The new school term begins at 7.35 am on Tuesday, 3/1/2012.

2. Attire

The dress code from Day 1 is the school uniform of Serangoon Secondary School.

3. Secondary One Orientation Programme

All Secondary One students have to attend the Secondary One Orientation programme. The schedule is as follows:

3/1/2012 – 5/1/2012 Secondary One Orientation Programme 7.35am – 1.15pm

6/1/201 Secondary One Orientation Programme cum Campfire Night 735am - 1215pm, 5.30pm – 8.30pm

14/1/2012 Secondary One CCA Orientation Day 7.35am – 12 noon

Parents/Guardians are invited to attend the Campfire Night on Friday 6/1/2012 and Secondary One CCA Orientation Day on Saturday 14/1/2012.

4. Purchase of textbooks and school uniforms
School uniforms and books will be on sale in the school. The schedule is as follows:

PE attire and name tags will be on sale in January 2012.

5. Verification of personal particulars

The following photocopied documents have to be submitted to the Form Teacher for verification on Tuesday, 3/1/2012:
• Personal birth certificate
• Identity cards of parents
• Death/Divorce certificate, if applicable

6. Financial Assistance

Students may apply for financial assistance if their total family gross income is $2000 or below. The completed application form and supporting documents like latest payslip, 2011 Income Tax Assessment Return, letter of self-declaration [if self-employed or unemployed] and death or divorce certificate [if applicable] must be submitted to the Form Teacher by Tuesday, 3/1/2012. Successful applicants will be notified by post.
