Congrats to our team for being the champion for Sec 1 in Cross Country!


Our class is the Champion for the Sec 1 level in the Cross Country today! It is a team effort and everyone of you played a part. Congratulations again and I am so proud of all of you!


Allen got first in individual and is part of the team which helped the class won the champion.

Jing Kang won the 13th position and is also part of the team who helped the class become the champion.

Hendra won the 7th position and is also part of the team who helped the class become the champion. I was also told that Janika, Allen, Zee, Dina and Hendra are all part of the team! Will post the photos when I get it from the school.

Please remember to report to the Hougang Swimming complex at 2.15pm in your school uniform. Bring along your swimming suit (girls) /swimming trunks (boys).

Cross Country 2012

X-Country 2012

29 Feb 0730 am at Bedok Reservoir Park

Competition Format

a) Team Champion, 2nd and 3rd position for each level:

Sec 1 level

Sec 2 Level

Sec 3 Level

Sec 4 Level ( Sec 5 with two classes and volunteer student officials will participate in the individual segment of competition on a voluntary basis)

Best 6 students position result in each class will represent the class as a team.

No distinction between boys or girls

Bonus points for class participation:

95% of class( less long term MC and student officials on duty)----10 points

90% of class (less long term MC and student officials on duty)--- 6 points

85% of class ( less long term MC and student officials on duty)--- 3 points

The bonus point system encourage maximum participation, loyalty and bonding amongst students in the class.

b) Individual position

Lower Sec Boys(Sec 1 &Sec 2 Boys ) 1st to 20th position

Lower Sec Girls (Sec 1 and Sec 2 Girls) 1st to 20th position

Upper Sec Boys( Sec 3, Sec 4 and Sec 5 Boys) 1st to 20th position

Upper Sec Girls( Sec 3, Sec 4 and Sec 5 Girls) 1st to 20th position

Safety

1. If you are unwell, inform your form teacher at the start point and you don’t need to run.

2. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily for one week before the run so that you are adequately hydrated.

3. In case of difficulty, approach the marshals for help and they will arrange for Red Cross cadets or ambulance to attend to you.

4. Proceed home immediately after dismissal. Do not loiter in the park.

Prepare for the X-Country Now

1.Run for C Div is 3.2km for girls and boys and B Girls

2.Run for B Div Boys is 4.3km

3.Run at least 3 times a week 3.2km or 4.3km

4.Do warm-up and warm-down

1. Report at Bedok Park Reservoir Car Park A at 7.30 am on Wednesday 29 Feb

2. Bus stop is near Car Park A( opposite The Clearwater condo)

3. Bus Service 168, 18, 21, 28, 5, 59, 65, 67 and 69

4. What items to bring for the X-Country:

Your wallet or bus pass

Asthma medicine if applicable

Water bottle---optional

Do not bring these items:

a) Bags

b)Clothes--- Go home immediately after the X-Country

Girls --- Keep your skirts in a plastic bag provided for each class

Attendance is compulsory.

Assemble at Car park A which is opposite the Clearwater condominium

Please cheer for your classmates who are participating in the competitive level.

Items to bring - your wallet, ezlink card, asthma medicine if applicable, water bottle (optional)

Do not bring: bags, clothes

Girls - keep your skirts in a plastic bag provided for each class.

Update of marks on AsknLearn and Elearning 17 Feb 2012

All the Geography Homework and Class Test (CA) marks had been uploaded to the asknlearn portal (http://lms.asknlearn.com/SERANGOON_SS/Logon.aspx) . The marks have all been converted to 100%.

Do login to asknlearn to check your marks. Your IC no. is your IC as well as the password. Please let me know if you have any difficulty logging in - you need to login for Elearning on 17 Feb.

You may also inform your parents that they can check the marks - ID is your IC and password is parents.

Students facing any login problem, you may email to asknlearn_admin@serangoonsec.edu.sg with your NRIC/BC/FIN, Name and Class for help.
